NDDC Launches AI and Drone Technology Training for Staff
The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has introduced a specialized training program focused on artificial intelligence, drone operations, and digital content creation as part of efforts to modernize its corporate communications system.
The training, designed for staff within the Corporate Affairs and Protocol Departments, covers key areas including drone piloting, video editing, media production, and the use of AI-powered communication tools.
Speaking during the program, Ifedayo Abegunde, represented by Assistant Director Oluwatimilehin Bada, said the initiative reflects the Commission’s commitment to innovation, transparency, and improved public engagement.
According to the Commission, the program is aimed at strengthening the digital communication skills of staff and improving how the agency shares information about its projects and activities.
NDDC Managing Director and CEO, Samuel Ogbuku, was also commended for promoting the adoption of emerging technologies to enhance the Commission’s media and storytelling capabilities.
Officials noted that artificial intelligence and digital media tools are becoming increasingly important in modern communication, making it necessary for organizations to upgrade staff skills and adapt to evolving technology trends.
The Commission further explained that the training marks the beginning of a broader capacity-building initiative that will help staff manage information more efficiently in today’s fast-moving digital environment.
Industry observers say the move highlights a growing trend among public institutions in Nigeria to embrace AI, digital media, and automation technologies to improve operations and public communication.
